Ruqyah - Quranic Healing

What is Ruqyah?

Ruqyah means to recite the perfect words of Allah, the authentic supplications conveyed to us by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and any supplication with good meanings that is free from shirk (associating partners with Allah) in order to receive the cure and mercy for any ailment including spiritual, physical, and psychological conditions.

Very often, ruqyah is used as a means to cure spiritual illnesses including magic, evil eye, and jinn possession.

Our philosophy

At Ruqyah Resort, we believe that all tests and trials are ultimately from Allah and are a means for us to repent for our sins, recognise and return back to Him, so that one day we can be with Allah in Jannah (paradise).

So when encountering any problems in life, we must take some time to do some self analysis and evaluate whether we are working towards worshipping our creator or not. Our first priority is to reconnect with Allah, and the best way to do that is through recitation of the Quran, seeking help through Du'aa (supplications), and through performing righteous actions which Allah is pleased with.

As a point of Islamic monotheism (Tawheed) our first instinct should always be to ask from Allah directly and seek to never have to rely upon other than Him.

Keeping that in mind, we have not been restricted from gaining help in this world, be that through the help of a person who has the capability to help, or through any other worldly means. Specifically with regards to ruqyah, that means firstly we should make the effort to do it ourselves, and if we require the assistance of a raaqi (ruqyah practitioner), or if we use prophetic medicine to help to cure ourselves, these are means which are permissible and have been legislated in Islamic law.

The main point to keep in mind is that nothing comes except from Allah, and nothing and no-one has the ability to benefit or harm except with the permission of Allah.

We have found that there are generally 4 categories of people that exist. The first category, are those that are fully knowledgeable regarding ruqyah, have the ability and motivation to do ruqyah upon themselves, and do it without any problems. This category of people do not need our services.

The other 3 categories of people are those whom we provide our services for.

Category 1: This person recognises they have a problem but they are not sure what the problem is, or what to do about it.

Solution: This person should book a registration and diagnosis session. Following this session, the ruqyah client is given a prescription, and if they follow it successfully will be well on the way to recovery by the permission of Allah. We will never claim a time frame for recovery as this is in the hands of Allah. The client may decide they don't need our services any more and we only ask that they remember us in their Du'as. Sometimes this type of client may wish to book follow up sessions for support, information, additional ruqyah to compliment their ruqyah, and a general 'checking' session.

Category 2: This person knows their problem, but they are not entirely sure what they need to do, or they lack motivation and need support in their ruqyah.

Solution: This person should book a registration and diagnosis session. Following this session, the ruqyah client is given a prescription. This client should then book follow up sessions as and when they need them in order to keep themselves motivated, to feel like they have support, for us to be able to check their progress, and for us to compliment their ruqyah with ours. The regularity of the follow up session all depends on the type and severity of the illness and the amount of support the client needs. This could be fortnightly, monthly etc.

Category 3: This person knows they have a problem, and may even know what to do, but they are prevented physically and mentally from taking action, and they don't have a supportive environment or relationship in which to be able to perform the ruqyah successfully. Sometimes this type of person is physically prevented from praying or reciting Quran.

Solution: This person should book a registration and diagnosis session. Following this session, the ruqyah client is given a prescription. They must strive to do what they can but must not despair if their progress is slow. They should book a block booking of ruqyah which is financially more economic as they know they require regular help and support. The sessions may take place on a weekly basis.

The religion is sincere advice

As you can see, our focus is to help and concentrate on those people who are in the most need. The best outcome for us is for someone to reconnect to Allah based upon our advice, sincerely repent to Him, return to Him and to rely upon Him alone.

For those people in genuine need of ruqyah, we say, don't allow the whispers of shaytaan to prevent you from good, and don't consider it a lack of faith to ask for help. But always realise we are not the cause of any cure. We are not miracle faith healers. We are like you. The only difference is, we may have some more knowledge, or experience in this field, and therefore are able to benefit others with advice about what to do.

Please be aware of anyone who claims to have special powers, or a gift. The religion of Allah is clear and transparent. There are no secrets in ruqyah. It is just that some people know what to do, and others haven't yet learnt that information.

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,

“Allah did not send down any disease but that he also sent its cure.”

In another narration, the Prophet (ﷺ) said,

One who has knowledge of it knows it, and one ignorant of it is ignorant.”

The Ruqyah Session

Please ensure you follow the registration process completely. We need to know any prior medical information including prescriptions and mental illness. Alongside this you must agree to all terms and conditions.

Important things to note are:

All sessions will be recorded (audio & video). This is for our protection, your protection, marketing purposes (faces will be blurred) and educational purposes.

We cannot accept more than two people to accompany the ruqyah patient due to space and practical reasons.

All female patients must be accompanied by their mahram (male relative whom they cannot marry, father, brother, adult son etc). In some rare cases there are people who don't have a mahram. We are sometimes able to make arrangements for that by asking for additional people to accompany the ruqyah session. But please contact us via email before booking an appointment so we can put that into place.

Things to expect during the ruqyah are: Quranic recitation, Du'aa (supplications), being blown upon (dry spittle), the use of prophetic medicine (honey, oil, water). The recitation generally lasts around an hour, with some time given before and after for discussion.

After the ruqyah session, many people are exhausted. If possible, please ensure the accompanying person can drive.

After you have made your booking, you will be sent a confirmation text detailing your appointment, steps to take etc. Please ensure you arrive 5 minutes prior to your allocated time. Unfortunately cancelled/missed appointments cannot be refunded.
